Of Failed Experiments and Art.

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

It’s no surprise by now, to anyone who’s read my posts before, that I suffer from some type of syndrome that prevents me from actually finishing anything I start on… and that the same syndrome also blinds me to this fact once I jump on board with a new idea or project.

Awhile back… I think it was December ‘07, I conceived a project that would be a complex, browser-based RPG, akin to Kingdom of Loathing, but different.  I managed to coerce Louisa into doing a lot of the artwork for the game, and a lot of the illustrations came out looking very, very nice.  Since the project has pretty much collapsed, and I have no current hopes of continuing it, I didn’t want the art to be forgotten, so, I’m posting everything here to show it off!  Enjoy!

Louisa’s Artwork Portfolio

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

After years of her constant prodding, I finally put together a simple gallery for Louisa’s artwork.

Please check it out here: http://louisahely.nfshost.com/

We plan on adding more of her work, a couple of pages for “About” and “Contact”, and adding to the design a little, but I think it looks really nice so far.

Please let me know what you think :D

Campaigning

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

In planning for my upcoming PbP Campaign, I’ve started writing up the Adventure that I want to use for the Campaign.  It’s turning out much better than I had planned (maybe I have a knack for this ‘writing thing’ afterall ;) ).  So, I’m wondering how I can refine my adventure, once it’s finished, to be viable for other people to use?

Again with the thinking and the planning…

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

I occasionally have these bursts of inspiration that seem to come out of nowhere, give me this charged feeling that makes me think: “This is a great idea, and I can do this!”, and then set me down this path of planning and brainstorming something that typically ends up being abandoned.  Zounds! was such an inspiration, and while it seems (so far) that it’s going to be a worthwhile endeavor – at least I hope so – I’m also very afraid that it’s going to be yet another flop.  TARGEngine, although I still really want to work on it, just doesn’t seem to be feasable anymore… there’s too many things that are ‘wrong’ that I simply don’t have the knowledge to fix… That being said, I’ve just been hit with the inspiration stick, yet again, and I wanted to get some of these thoughts out here so that I don’t lose them.  At the very least, this might help to illuminate my thought processes…
